Support

The Art League of Long Island started out in 1954 with a group of dedicated artists who wanted to connect with one another and bring the joy of the visual arts to the surrounding area of Huntington and eventually to the rest of Long Island. It succeeded and moved forward in those early days through the efforts of dedicated artists and art lovers who selflessly gave of their time.

As a non-profit organization, we continue to need your support to keep this worthwhile entity operating and serving the needs of the men, women, and children of Long Island.

The Art League serves the community is so many ways. The Art League offers about 200 art classes and workshops from beginner through advanced level. Lectures and museum tours educate and invigorate those who wish to learn more and see more of the arts. The Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery plays host to almost a dozen art exhibits each year showcasing works of artists near and far. The Art in the Park Fine Art & Craft Fair has been a favorite of Long Islanders since the late 1960’s. The Holiday Fine Art & Craft Fair has brought many the gift of art for almost 50 years.

The Art League works with local schools in exposing young minds to the appreciation of art. Special needs children come together to feel or see and explore at workshops carefully designed to bring out the artist in all of them.

The support of the local community is essential to the success and longevity of the Art League. Over the years volunteers have supported the Art League by donating their time, whether by helping out at our annual fine arts and crafts fairs, in the gallery, in the office, or in the studios. Many have offered their financial support and donated funds for our many worthwhile programs mentioned above.

The Art League thanks all those who have supported us in the past and for all those who commit to our future endeavors.
