Art League Virtual Class: Game Design & Development
Since 1986 Patrick Aievoli has been immersed in the use of design technology and has observed the pendulum swing from technology based to knowledge based design. His teaching philosophy has evolved and morphed as the user base has become more sophisticated to reflect those changes. During a lesson or project patrick always tries to bring outside considerations into the mix well before pencil goes to paper or mouse to pixel. Having been fortunate enough to have taught and create interaction design projects even before it had a name Patrick has learned the value of critical thinking over the focus on technologies – technologies change – critical thinking continues.
Patrick has 18 years of experience teaching design and digital technologies at the undergraduate and graduate level, directing a Master’s program in college Interaction Design programs. He’s taught at Long Island University, SUNY Farmingdale, and USDAN Center for the Arts.
