I believe every art student has artistic ability! Sometimes it takes a little encouragement and positive reinforcement for them to build the confidence to explore the possibilities and tap into their creative talent. I taught art in the East Islip School District for thirty-two years and feel lucky to have had a career that I love. I have been teaching at the Art League for five years and have motivated students of all ages, to learn new skills and techniques and explore new media. An art experience should be fun and also help develop creative artistic confidence.
My personal artistic interests are, darkroom black and white photography, digital photography, fiber art weaving and making paper. Recycling paper and turning it into “new paper” has inspired images that are organic and directly relate to nature. Tearing, cutting, reshaping, painting and drawing on my textured paper has inspired images of trees, leaves and the natural environment.
