Patricia Shih Wins Two More Honors for Documentary “Undocumented”

The latest update on Art League Instructor instructor Patricia Shih*, who in addition to being a very talented visual artist and instructor is also a musician and filmmaker. Her first and only film is a documentary entitled “Undocumented.” This very timely film was just awarded two more honors to add to the 10 previously given from 9 festivals all across the country. This time they were from the Olympus Film Festival in Hollywood, CA. The film was a finalist in two categories: Best Documentary Feature and Best First-time Filmmaker.

Also she has just returned from California where her film was screened at Stanford University as part of its Camera as Witness program, in a series called “Human Dignity: Faces of Immigration.” It was at Stanford that her film was shown 1.5 years ago as part of the United Nations Association Film Festival, and the director of that festival also selected Patricia’s film to be shown again this past July for this series.

Lastly it was screened at the Roxie Theater in San Francisco as a fundraiser for the Dreamers Fund for a scholarship to the Masters Program in Migrant Studies at the University of San Francisco. At both screenings Patricia was interviewed and there was a Q & A with the audience on the issues surrounding immigration.”
