ANNUAL APPEAL 2019

A MESSAGE TO OUR SUPPORTERS

Thank You To Our Supporters! Signature Matching Gift Campaign Exceeded the Goal!

Art League Board President Harlan J. Fischer Presents Check for $25,000 to Executive Director Charlee Miller

Overwhelming Community Response to Signature Matching Gift Campaign Exceeds Art League of Long Island’s Fundraising Goals

The Art League of Long Island is grateful to its many supporters in the community and wishes to publicly thank those who sprang to action to help raise funds for structural and programmatic needs of this bustling art center located in the heart of Long Island.

As all responsible not-for-profit organizations must do, the Art League was in the process of organizing its annual spring appeal earlier this year to raise funds to support its arts education programs, cultural events, and the very building that provides the space for these community services. The spring appeal then became something a bit more extraordinary with the offer by the Art League’s Board President Harlan Fischer and his wife Olivia to personally match each donation up to a maximum of $25,000. The goal was met by the end of July, and donations are still pouring in.

The public is invited to come and celebrate a day of art at the Art League’s annual Open House on August 24 from 11am to 3pm. Instructors will be performing live demonstrations in the studios, and in celebration of our newly redesigned ceramic studio there will be a raku ceramics activity (first come, first serve, or just observe), and the public can participate in the opening art reception of the Instructors’ Exhibition in the Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery. Admission and all activities are free of charge.
