April 2024

Dear friends,

Happy Spring!  As the days grow longer and the temperatures rise, there is always a feeling of renewal and growth.  The Art League of Long Island looks forward to being a part of your personal and creative growth this season.

We have a wide breadth of new workshops and classes that are being offered for adults and teens this spring.  Try your hand at collage, Iphone photography, maybe flower washes?  Or maybe, join master watercolorist Antonio Masi for his painting bold workshop in May.

This month we present the return of the Long Island Craft Guild’s exhibition “Seeing the Other” through April 19th in the Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery.  At the end of the month, we present an unique dual exhibition “Painting with Light: Photographs of Stephen Hopper” on the first floor of the gallery, with a special exhibition of instructors and students of our printmaking and collage classes on the second floor of the gallery.

Veterans, we are presenting a special free workshop with John Mellilo, The Art of Healing, on May 23rd.

Parents, our Summer Portfolio Program and Summer Art Adventure Program are open for registration.  Ensure a spot for your teen or young artist today!  Half Hollow Hills residents look in your the school’s virtual backpacks for a discount code.

We’ve made a change to our long standing Art in the Park event, bringing it to our home to celebrate our location.  The Art in the Parking Lot will be held on June 2nd with a rain date of June 9th.  Interested in being an exhibitor?  Click here for details.

Please renew your membership and enjoy the benefits it provides, including discounts to our classes and supplies at your favorite stores.

Any way you look at it, there is something for everyone and an avenue for you to be involved.  And I look forward to seeing you soon.

Best,
Marianne Della Croce
