As we begin to look for ways to keep cool this summer, remember there are plenty of opportunities to do so right here at the Art League.
We have a plethora of new workshops and classes happening this summer from Color Theory in Watercolors to Introduction to Wax Carving. There’s always an opportunity to learn a new skill and try a new medium.
Interested in seeing more demonstrations? Our Annual Summer Open House will be held on August 19th from 11am-2pm. Save the date, stop by, and see 15 demonstrations throughout the afternoon and visit the Instructors Exhibition Opening at the same time!
Join us in our Return of Jazz to the Art League fundraiser on August 26th. Listen to a trio of musicians in our beautiful Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery and then join us for cocktails under the tent. You can purchase your tickets here.
Stroll through our Strolling Gallery and visit the artwork of Liv Coccoza and our participants in our LGBTQIA+ workshops. Interested in learning more about our partnership with TD Bank, which will expand this program? More is coming…soon.
Consider applying to become a Resident Artist. Established in 2018, this program is designed to provide a select group of Long Island based artists with skill-building and community based opportunities to further develop their careers in the visual arts. Consider submitting a work for our upcoming Latinx Heritage Month Celebration. We invite all artists from New York State the opportunity to submit their 2D works which celebrate Latin culture for an exhibition in the Strolling Gallery in October. You can download the prospectus here.
Volunteer with us! We are always looking for help in the gallery, for demos at special events, and in the office. Active volunteers receive a free membership, a complimentary class, and tickets to special events. Download the application here and let me know how you’d like to help!
