COURSE DESCRIPTION

Seahorses and Starfish are fun subjects to paint because of their fascinating shapes and extraordinary colors. In this workshop ‘Under the Sea’ Lorraine will guide you as you paint the negative space which allows the image to come to life. Painting sea life can be as calming as a day at the shore and there is no limit on the colors you can use. Join Lorraine and discovering how effortless it can be to paint these adorable sea creatures using negative painting techniques. Attending 'Acknowledging the Negative' is recommended for those artists who may not be familiar with negative painting. Watercolorist Lorraine Rimmelin strives for a level of excitement and movement that engages the viewer in her interpretation of nature; finding dynamic juxtapositions in groups of flowers or shapes in a sunrise, and capturing the essence of these images as she develops her paintings.
