FINDING YOUR WRITER’S VOICE by award winning author Gae Polisner: Just as great singers have unique and recognizable voices, so do the best writers. Yet schools these days simply do not have much time for creative writing, nor the ability to nurture writer’s voice in the elementary through high school years. This class will be chock-full of hands-on creative writing including memoir, poetry, short story and/or novel writing, and students will use these forms as a chance to not only learn basic and more sophisticated craft, but also to discover and explore our own unique writer’s voice.
