COURSE DESCRIPTION

Pre-College Portfolio Development Summer Program is designed for aspiring artists looking to refine their skills and build a strong portfolio for college applications. This intensive program offers hands-on instruction in various mediums, personalized feedback and guidance on portfolio presentation. Students will explore new techniques, develop their artistic voice and gain valuable insight into the expectations of art school admissions as well as completing required portfolio projects.

Week 4: The Skeleton & Color Theory is a pre-college course where students create a deliberately composed skeleton study using color to set mood and highlight focal points. Students will explore the 2D design principle, variety by drawing one object 4–6 times, each with different viewpoints, scale and magnification. By the end of the course, students leave with portfolio-ready work that shows both creativity and technical skill.
