Rita Broughton – The Heckscher Museum of Art’s 2026 Long Island Biennial

Rita Broughton is excited to announce her acceptance into the Heckscher Museum of Art’s 2026 Long Island Biennial.

Selected from a pool of 261 artists and 598 submitted works, the themed competition invited artists to present work marking the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The exhibition is also inspired by the centennial of George Grosz’s masterwork of political art, Eclipse of the Sun (1926).

Rita B. is honored to be included in this significant exhibition and is thrilled to be part of the event. She is also a beloved painting instructor at the Art League of Long Island!
