This juried group show celebrates Women’s History Month. Exhibition on view: March 4-29, 2026.
As Lori Horowitz, President of New York Society of Women Artists (NYSWA), described it: “This carefully curated exhibition offers deep insight into the challenges we face – current issues that affect our world. Our mission as artists is to relate these views and reach our audience and communities to spark understanding and awareness. Together, this collaboration exemplifies the enduring capacity of art to confront complexity, inspire dialogue, and envision progress.”
Reflections on Progress: Courting Challenges will showcase over 35 contemporary works across diverse media, each illuminating the intersections of human rights, environmental stewardship, and social justice. From painting and sculpture to installation and mixed media, the exhibition underscores a shared pursuit of visibility, equality, and acceptance.

New York Society of Women Artists (NYSWA), Founded in 1925 by trailblazing women artists including Marguerite Zorach, Theresa Bernstein, and Anne Goldthwaite, NYSWA has spent a century advancing avant-garde voices and building a supportive network committed to gender equity, diversity, and social justice. Its impact has been recognized by both state and national leaders, including a recent proclamation by Governor Kathy Hochul commending NYSWA for its invaluable contributions to New York’s cultural landscape. By fostering a collaborative spirit among its members, the organization aims to amplify the impact of its creative output, gain parity in the art market, push boundaries, and redefine the role of women in the arts.
