SCHOOL PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM
After more than 65 years of bringing the joy of creativity to individual adults, teens and children, the League has launched a major new initiative to strengthen sequential instruction in visual arts education and Arts-Based Learning in our schools.
Each Election Day in November, teachers from Long Island schools strengthen their artistic techniques at our Professional Development Day workshops, earning CTLE certification. Teachers also earn CTLE certification in content area in any one of our regularly scheduled art classes. Additional programs include class trips to our specialized studios and onsite visits by experienced teaching artists to K-12 schools.
Professional Development Day 2022 takes place 10am-3pm on Tuesday, November 8!
Workshops Include: Watercolor Paper Cuff Bracelets | Monotype Printmaking – The Painterly Printmaker | Capturing your Passion on Video | Handbuilding Coil Vases and Surface Decoration Techniques | Teaching Basic Ceramics – Wheel Throwing | Introduction to Zentangle for Art Teachers | Cyanotype Printmaking – Painting with Light and Accessible Materials | Loose Liquid Landscapes in Watercolor | Biomorphism in the Quantum Age (Seminar)
