2 pm | Spring 2022 [OnlineRegistrationDescription] => Do you want to loosen up your painting style? Painting loosely requires the ability to let go of controlling watercolor and allowing your paint to move freely on the paper. Losing control while painting can be a painter's worst nightmare - but in this workshop losing control is what makes or breaks these dramatic landscapes. Mastering the loose technique will create a movement of pigment and water to acheive stunning shapes and designs. This workshop is a drawing course designed to fuse together both the ability to construct the human figure from knowledge of anatomy, and to observe the figure through the training of the eye. Drawing from extensive anatomical texts, and working with the model, this course will deepen all artist’s understanding of human form, and how to depict it in their own work. This course is not designed to introduce a style, per se, but rather, equips the students to incorporate the human figure in their work, as they desire.
Are you ready to put paint on paper and let it flow?
Let's unlock our creativity and allow the watercolor paints to take us on a journey and see what is possible when we let it flow.

All you need is clay, your hands, and access to an oven at home. Join Lesley DeLia, a recent winner of the 2021 International Polymer Clay Association's Global Competition, in exploring the world of polymer clay and discovering the endless possibilities of what is so often misdiagnosed as a craft medium.
In this workshop, students will learn to condition polymer clay and use it to make visually exciting cane patterns. You will learn how to slice the cane accurately and apply it in order to create cover to a glass votive cup. Participants will be sent home with the raw clay cup along with instructions on how to safely bake it at home. There should be enough cane leftover for all participants to bring home excess cane to create another full independent project at home. The firing process is the heart and soul of the American Raku technique. The finished pieces are unpredictable. Glazes crackle in fascinating patterns and metallic oxides change colors depending on the amount od oxidation in the post firing reduction chamber.
