17th Annual “Go APE” Student Exhibition

February 24 to March 9, 2024

Now in its 17th year, exhibiting in the Art League of Long Island’s Strolling Gallery, our”Go APE” exhibit celebrates the exceptional artwork, as selected by their teachers, of AP, IB or equivalent art students in Long Island’s High Schools. Featuring 2-D and 3-D works by 103 AP and IB Art Students from 38 Long Island High Schools. Awards of Excellence and Honorable Mentions have been determined by Exhibition Juror Thomas Germano. The exhibit is on view in the Art League of Long Island’s Strolling Gallery February 24 through March 9.

 

About our Juror:  Thomas Germano is a professional artist and professor of art with over three decades of exhibitions and professional experience.  A native New Yorker, Germano was born in NYC and currently lives and maintains an art studio in Long Island, NY.  He holds an MFA in Painting from Yale University and a BFA from Cornell University, concentrating in painting and minoring in art history.  A Full Professor of Art and Art History at Farmingdale State College / SUNY, he also teaches a Graduate Seminar at the New York Academy of Art, NYC, and has taught classes in studio painting and Renaissance Art History in Florence, Rome and Lucca, Italy.  Thomas Germano teaches Portfolio Development for Teens at the Art League of Long Island.
