Laura Badke

I am a ceramic artist living and working on Long Island.
I have been teaching ceramics for over 5 years at various studios on Long Island.
I love teaching students to create pieces and to follow their artistic path. Creating
challenges for the students, I find, really help them to grow. My teaching is based on
technique first. Having the skills will help you develop and make anything you want.
My pieces are wheel thrown using white stoneware clay, but I do hand build as well.
My approach to the wheel thrown pieces are curvaceous and subtle, often using
primitive firing techniques such are Horsehair Raku and Naked Raku.
I have a bachelors degree of Fine Arts. My background is in marketing/graphic design.
I have happily been creating ceramic pieces for over 10 years.
