The purpose of this workshop will be: 1) to develop a basic knowledge of the properties and potential of polymer clay as an artist’s medium; 2) to have a hands -on experience creating a polymer clay cane; and 3) to use that cane to create and finish a decorated glass bud vase. Each participant will be provided with safe baking instructions to cure the project at home. Day 1: (5 hours) One hour Powerpoint with Q and A and manual conditioning of 16 ounces of clay to prepare it to be used on Day 2, including preparation of one skinner blend cane Day 2: (5 hours) Preparation of simple canes to be combined into a single complex cane to be sliced and used as a veneer for a glass jar
