Introduction:
The Hauppauge Public Library is seeking proposals from experienced artists for the design and execution of a mural in their front vestibule. The selected artist will have two Hauppauge High School students participate in the mural painting, and should have experience working with young adults and the desire to impart professional skills.
Purpose:
The purpose of the mural is to welcome guests to the library. Design concepts should reflect this sentiment, as well as inclusivity, and the sense of wonder and discovery that can be felt when entering a library. The Library is open to an interactive design that would encourage sharing on social media. The Library also wishes for this mural to pay tribute to several community members who have passed away.
Site Specifications:
The mural will be located on the vestibule wall facing the entrance to the library. Design concepts should focus on the blank wall space above the double doors, and may extend to the left and right, and also onto the ceiling tiles. Dimensions can be found below.
