Dear Friends,

Thank you again for all of your continued support to the Art League of Long Island.  As we continue to rebound from our reconstruction, I want to continue to express my appreciation for all of the ways that you have supported us.  I thank you for your flexibility in some of the shifting dates and times of your classes.

Some of you have provided important feedback on the classes we currently offer and potential offerings that we are looking to introduce to you.  Your constructive feedback is so important to us so that we are able to continually challenge your abilities.  We recognize that you’ve continued to maintain your membership and you’ve explored new classes offerings as well.  You’ve also entered a piece in our members’ exhibition and visited our Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery to view a new show.  We hope you enjoyed our beloved Art in the Parking Lot event this past Sunday.  We had over fifty artists join us to sell their pieces and our instructors provided demonstrations on their craft.

As we continue to move into the summer, please continue to show this support.  Join us in celebrating Pride this month with free educational workshops sponsored by TD Bank on June 22nd.  Please keep your membership current, participate in our exhibition receptions, enroll your children in our Pre-College Portfolio Summer Intensive Program or our Summer Art Adventure Program.  We have new workshops each month, as well as your regular favorites.

Dear friends,

Thank you for continuing to support the Art League of Long Island.  Now that we have reopened and our regularly scheduled classes, exhibitions, and events return to our calendar, we are thrilled to see all of your smiling faces in our building.

I want to take a moment to thank each student for providing constructive feedback in our evaluations of our classes.  Your comments help us make decisions on how we can developour offerings.  Know that I am happy to meet with you to address your concerns or to hear your comments on what we are doing well!

This month brings a joint exhibition to the Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery.  On the first floor, we celebrate Stephen Hopper: Painting with Light and on the second floor an exhibition from our Printmaking & Collage instructors and students.  On May 18th, we celebrate the opening exhibition from Scott Duffy & Friends.

This month brings us special workshops including Painting Bold with Watercolor with Antonio Masi,  the ART of Healing for Veterans, First Responders and their Families with John Mellilo, Smart Phone Photography with Holly Hunt, and Flower Washes with Lorraine Rimmelin.  Continue to look for our Create Nights with Rob Stenzel on the final Wednesday of each month.  May’s theme is The First Pride was a Riot.

We also welcome back Jen Salta and Rachel Kalina to our Metalsmithing Department!  Now we are offering a true beginners class and other workshops for our students.  And registration is open for our Summer Art Adventure and Intensive Pre-College Portfolio Program, now offering more options for enrollment.

Any way you slice it, there’s an avenue at the Art League to bring out the artists in all of us!  I look forward to seeing you all soon.
